Frankly, there are several ways of making money online in Nigeria. While some of these many options will fetch you peanuts, others will fetch you real cash. 2. Google Adsense or Pay per Click Advertising (You make money when people click on advertisement links placed on your website when you register with Google).

3. Information Marketing (Selling E-books and digital products created by you or created by other people. If you are a good writer, you can write an e-book. If you’re a programmer, you can develop your own application. If you have any other knowledge that you think people would like to learn, you can package it into an Information Product and sell it for profit. As you know this is what I am currently doing and it is giving me such good returns). Your Information Product could be PDF, MP3, and Video etc.

4. Website Flipping (You set up a website or blog and develop it by stuffing it with high quality articles and building massive traffic to it. Buyers pay as much as a million dollars for such websites. (The price depends on the authority of the website).

5. Coaching and Online Tutorials If you have any skill or knowledge that is demanding and people would be interested in, you can offer online coaching or classes and charge your students. The more you can convince people that you are an expert, the more interested students you will attract and the more money you will make. You must learn how to use Skype and how to organize webinars.

Now let’s discuss the demand things;

1.                Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is simply a marketing practice, in which a business rewards you for bringing customers through marketing its products or services. Here’s a better explanation: You register to become an affiliate with a merchant e.g an online store, such as Amazon or Best-Buy. Next, you set up a web page or blog, on which you advertise Amazon or Best-Buy. Each time a customer buys a product through the links or banner displayed on your web page, you get a commission on the sale. That’s affiliate marketing for you. So, the more visitors you attract to your web page or blog, the more people will buy the products you market and the more profit you make.

For example, in Amazon affiliate marketing, you will be referring people to Amazon.com the world’s largest online store and you get commissions when people buy products through your link. You can start with a free website and no other extra cost. The focus is on selecting good, profitable products from Amazon.com, creating a review webpage for the product and driving traffic (visitors) to that page by improving its search engine rankings. A review is a post or page that contains details about a product including its good and bad sides and also recommendations as to whether the product is good enough to buy or not.

The whole process can be broken down into three steps via:

Step 1: Select a good quality, high commission product and generate your affiliate links for that product. This could take you 48 hours to a week to complete this step.

Step 2: Create a very high quality review post or page packed full of useful, valuable and unique information about the product. Sprinkled inside the review will be your affiliate links leading to where the product can be bought. It could take a week or two to complete this step.

Step 3: Build quality links from other websites to the review page to increase the rankings of the page. You may also need to write a handful of articles that are related to the product that you are promoting and link these articles to the product review page. This is the most challenging step and could take up to 6 months for you to complete.

The downside about doing affiliate marketing in Nigeria is that if you are just starting out, you have to wait for many months (sometimes even up to one year!) before you can receive your first payment in a form that you can actually withdraw and spend. I know you hate the one year part but that’s the truth and this long delay is not always the case and is mainly due to due to the nature in which Nigerian affiliate marketers get paid which is through cheque.

This cheque, which is a foreign cheque is sent by post from the USA (or whichever country the merchant company is located. If you are lucky, this cheque could take only a short time to get to you. And it will take an additional 21 days for it to be cleared and lodged in your account for withdrawal.

Things are easier for people living outside Nigeria as there are faster payment options available in many other countries but not available in Nigeria. Although other ways of receiving payment exist for Nigerians, the cheque is the most viable one that can be used in Nigeria at this time.

Despite the long delay in getting your first cheque, affiliate marketing still remains the one with the greatest long term prospects because once you are able to have everything set up, it only requires very little maintenance and it will continue to receive a continuous stream of free traffic and growing revenues from search engines like Google.

This is truly what is known as making money on autopilot. Whether you are asleep or awake or on holidays, the website will continue to generate cash for you without you taking any action or doing anything.

As a beginner with affiliate marketing, it is wise to set your revenue goals on a low target like $50 or $70. Once you are able to hit $70 in commissions every month, you can be rest assured that your affiliate business is set to see steady growth.

A word of caution though, getting to $70 may take you many months maybe even up to a year especially if it is your first time. The beginning of affiliate marketing is often very slow and full of uncertainty and anxiety from not knowing whether all your effort will pay off or whether you aren't just wasting your time. Success is not something that happens overnight therefore you should not expect too much too soon. All you need is patience, perseverance, faith and prayers.

Let’s now move to the second of the three businesses that I mentioned. This one is called Google Adsense or Pay-Per-Click advertising or PPC. Just like Amazon affiliate marketing, you can also start PPC without any capital but it could take up to 15 months of nonstop dedicated work before you can start getting reasonable returns.

2.                Pay Per Click Advertising

Pay-Per-Click advertising (or PPC) is when you have a website and you register with an advertising company so that they place their adverts on your website and when people visit, if they happen to click on those adverts, you get paid a commission.

The commission per click ranges from $0.01 (₦1.6) to $1 (₦165) so the more people that click on the adverts, the more money you make. The most profitable of these advertising companies is Google and the name of their PPC program is AdSense. If you get this one right, Google Adsense (pronounced "add - sense") is one of the best for generating long term profits that come in regularly and keep growing every month.

The AdSense program is owned and run by Google.com and although getting into the program is free, the major challenge is that it is not always easy to get approved and in extreme cases could take up to 6 months if you are not so lucky. Also there are a lot of rules guiding the program and it is easy for someone without experience to make mistakes which could lead to getting kicked out.

Another major challenge is that because of the payment method available in Nigeria, it could take an extra 3 to 6 months after approval and running of your website before your first payment finally hits your bank account. Provided you are doing it right and you don't get discouraged, you will eventually get to a point where the revenues will become a very reliable source of passive income.

To start with Google Adsense, you need to have a website (free or paid) and you need to update it regularly with information that people will be interested in so that when they visit your website they might like it enough to want to visit regularly and maybe even subscribe to be receiving updates whenever you post. Before starting, you have to decide what type of website you want to build and what kind of information to put there. You must do your research to know what people will be interested in because if you put information that nobody is interested in you might end up wasting your time because you will not be able to attract many visitors and subscribers.

You generally need up to 2000 regular daily visitors and anything from 5,000 to 10,000 subscribers to be able to make anything from ₦50,000 and above Monthly with AdSense. It is easy to put down these figures here but in reality, you will sweat and sweat for a long time before you can get this kind of daily visitor traffic that is why AdSense is definitely not for people who want instant money.

Although getting such an amount of daily visitors and subscribers could take up to a year or more to achieve, the beauty of AdSense is that once you are able to get to this point, the revenues start growing on its own without you doing much work and it gets to a point where the revenues start increasing every month and within the space of 18 to 24 months, you should be able to get up to ₦100,000 - ₦200,000 monthly regular income, maybe more provided you do the right thing.

Starting With Adsense

To start with Adsense you need the following:

1. A website (free or paid). Read this article: The A-Z Beginner's Guide On How To Build A Free Website.

2. A domiciliary account: Most Nigerian banks have this type of account. You won't need this at the beginning but when your cheque is ready to be sent, you will need this to be able to cash it. We use GTBank domiciliary account which we opened with a $100 minimum deposit (which you can withdraw later). The minimum deposit figure is however higher in some states but GTBank is not the only bank that has this type of account. Most of the other banks operate it too. You can go to any bank and ask for details about their domiciliary account.

3. A hot and popular subject for your website which people will be very interested in. The subject of a website is usually referred to as the "Niche" (pronounced “nitch” or “nish”). Most of the updates you make on your website and articles you write will center around the niche that you have selected. The niche must be in high demand for example entertainment, Nollywood movies and celebrity gossip is one very hot niche in Nigeria today. An example of such website is www.nigeriafilms.com.There are also certain niches that are always popular like health and fitness (e.g dieting, weight loss), wealth creation and making money etc.

 Inability to get a popular niche is another common reason why most people fail. The fact that you feel that people might be interested in something on your website doesn't always mean that they will be interested. This is the reason why many beginners create a website and make some posts and don't understand why after six months nobody is visiting the website.

The bottom line is that if there are not enough interested people in the niche that you chose, then you will most definitely fail. But the good news is that there are proven techniques and software that you can use to research and find popular niches to try. There are many different ways to find a good niche to use but most of them are ineffective and outdated. 4. Time and ability to write articles to put on your website (for starters you may need at least 10 articles, for a start). The articles need to be unique and of very high quality and packed with lots of information about the given topic. If you do not have the ability or the time to write the articles yourself, you could get someone around you to help out and if need be pay them. The important thing is that the article must be of very good quality and contain unique and interesting information, not copied from another website.

5. Knowledge of SEO: SEO means Search Engine Optimization and deals with how to make your website easy to find by people searching for information online. SEO is of one of the seven branches of online business and is of paramount importance for long term growth and in the short term too especially if you do not have the funds to advertise on Facebook and Google.

SEO is a very broad topic with various techniques and schools of thought.

Most of the biggest websites in Nigeria like Nairaland, Vanguard, Naijahotjobs etc all use AdSense. These websites make TONS of dollars from Adsense. Yes you heard me right.

You can use Adsense to make money from most types of websites like Forums, Social Networks, Blogs, Magazines, CMS etc. In Nigeria, the payments from AdSense are sent by Google every month in the form of a foreign cheque from their office in Ireland and delivered to you by DHL. You can cash the foreign check only with a domiciliary account.

There are a lot of things involved in setting up and running a successful Adsense business in Nigeria but space will not allow me to go into the nitty gritty details in this short course. To make things easy for those who want to learn how it is done, we described the step by step details of building a website and setting up an AdSense business in my new Cash System Business E-book package. Receiving Payments

Not all online businesses are ideal for people living in Nigeria because most of them are managed by foreign companies some of whom do not like doing business with Nigerians. This is one of the reason while I stick with just the three businesses listed above because it is easy to receive the money from them right here in Nigeria.

For Google Adsense and Amazon affiliates, the foreign cheques are issued by the respective companies (Google and Amazon).

These cheques are sent from overseas to your residential address. It is sent through the post office or through courier services like DHL. It takes between 1 and 3 months for the cheque to arrive. You cannot cash foreign cheques using a regular bank account. The only may to cash a foreign cheque in Nigeria is to use a special type of bank account known as Domiciliary Account.  A Domiciliary account can be opened in most banks in Nigeria.

You do not need to open a domiciliary account before you can start online business. It is only when you are ready to get paid that you will need one. It is not difficult to get one. You can go to any bank and ask them about Domiciliary Accounts. We use GTBank. When I receive a cheque, I pay it into my domiciliary account. It takes 21 days to clear after which it reflects in my account and I an able to withdraw it as cash.

In my online course, I also explain how you can go about obtaining a domiciliary account so don’t worry. For the third business, Information Marketing; people pay directly into my normal bank account and I’m able to withdraw the money instantly unlike in the case of the cheques method.

You can use a normal savings account or current account or a company account it doesn’t matter. When people pay into my account, they send me a text with the details. When I confirm the payment, I send them a link to the E-book that they paid for.

 So now you can see that everything I am saying is true and it could also be you cashing cheques monthly.

3.                Information Marketing

Information marketing, as the name implies, is basically about selling information to people online. This information is usually made available in soft copy and could take the form of e-books, reports (or e-booklets), videos, audio or any other format. For a country like Nigeria, e-books are generally easier and more accessible over the Internet than videos because of the slow internet connection speeds.

Don't let the word Marketing scare you. This is not face to face marketing and you do not need to meet anybody one on one or try to verbally convince anybody to buy anything. In information marketing, your web pages and email messages do all the marketing for you and all you have to do is sit back and wait for the payment alerts to start arriving on your phone.

In this type of online business, once you have set up the proper systems and have paid for online advertising, everything else is nearly automatic.

Information marketing is very good because you can begin to get returns within two or three months of starting up. Once the system is in place, all you are required to do is monitor it occasionally to ensure that you are getting the desired response, and also monitor your bank account. When anybody buys from you, you verify their payment and forward the product to their email and that's it.

But unlike Google Adsense where you can start without any capital, to get fast and guaranteed results from information marketing, you need to invest a little amount to start up. The first sales you make can be reinvested into the business for better profits and after a short while, you will begin to turn in increasingly bigger and better profits as your list of prospects grows and more people get to know about you and your products.

Also you do not necessarily need to be the one to write this information that you market. There are places where you can buy the rights to resell already existing E-books or hire someone to write for you.

But if you do not have the necessary funds to buy resale rights or pay a writer, and if you do not register for my Cash System Business course then you have no choice but to write your own e-book and hope that it is good enough for people to buy.

Once you have obtained the product, the next step is to promote and market it. There are two common approaches you could take to promoting it. The first approach is to build a list of prospective buyers by offering them something for free like a free E-book or a free email course. The strategy of building a list of prospective buyers is known as the indirect or auto-responder method. After using the free stuff to lure them in and increase your credibility then you gently start to market to them. Since you have already captured their email, you can keep mailing and mailing them trying to get those who have not bought to buy.

Another method is the direct method. Here you do not use an auto-responder to capture emails. All you need is just a web page talking about the benefits of your e-book and trying to convince the visitor to buy.

This page, also known as a sales page, will list the contents of the e-book or package that you are selling and most importantly instructions telling people how to place their order.

The simplest process of ordering is by stating your bank account and asking customers to pay into it after which they should send a text message to you with the depositor name, payment slip number, amount paid, email and phone number.

When a payment is made into your account, you will get an alert from your bank and all you need to do is to confirm the payment with the text sent to you and forward the e-book to the buyer's email address. There are also automatic ways that payments can be processed via ATM card but that is a much more complex process.

Once you have your sales page up, your next task would be to start promoting and advertising the page so as to get as many people as possible to visit it, see what you have written and hopefully buy. With a great product and a well designed sales page, you can make hundreds of thousands and even millions of naira from a single product within a very short time. It all depends on how convincing your sales page is and how well you are able to promote it.

One very important rule that you should always keep to is honesty. It is easy to make false claims and deceptive statements on your sales page and yes it might actually improve your sales but if your product does not contain or do what you claim that it does, then you have automatically become a fraudster and your name becomes tainted online. So my most important advice to intending info marketers is never ever deceive or make false claims about your product. A little exaggeration is sometimes understandable but try not to overdo it.

  How Can I take Part in this Unique Online Businesses?

THREE ONLINE MYTHS YOU MUST NOT BELIEVE

1.    You Can Get Rich Overnight

Success really comes down to the amount of time you pit into your business. Rome wasn’t built in a day and an internet business that earns you $50 or more a day isn’t going to just happen overnight.

2.    You Can Get Rich Doing Nothing

This is perhaps the biggest and most damaging myths of all. Being successful online is just like anything else. You get out of it what you put to it. Success does require you to roll up your sleeves and get dirty.

The luxury you have now is that it’s a lot easier to get started online and so much cheaper than compared to 5 or 10 years ago. But even though it’s easy, it still requires effort. Those click button software help but they won’t be everything.

3.    Internet Marketing Is A Scam!

Sadly, while searching for the best option, some newbies fall victim to scammers who promises overnight riches or thousands of dollars at the click of a button. After being scammed, these poor beginners form the impression that online business is all a Scam.

I can see why people come to this conclusion. They get sucked in by a sales letter that promises they will make 1 million Naira in 5 hours. Then when they get the product they get the product, they give it a reluctant effort and don’t see any results. They throw their hands up in the air and give up, running around screaming that Internet Business is a scam.

The fact is that there is a lot of money with online marketing….a TON but the reality is that it takes work and time (as I revealed in the first 2 myths above).
